About the Role
Mid-State Insurance is growing and seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with to join our Benefits team. We are looking for someone who has an aptitude for building quality and lasting client relationships, to focus on selling medium to large employee benefits packages.
Responsibilities
Strategizes with Agency Management on decisions to enhance profitability in the department.
Develops new client base targeting medium to large size companies.
Adept at building and maintaining relationships internally and externally with staff and clients.
Proven track record of high client retention.
Cross sell, referring accounts to Producers in other areas of Agency.
Manages all service related to accounts developed and assigned.
Utilizes marketing and client service resources provided.
Working knowledge of ACA compliance. Continually builds on that knowledge, in order to mentor and educate team members.
Prepares and implements an individual business plan to develop and grow the Benefits department.
Strong leadership skills and drive to succeed preferred.
Provide oversight and leadership to Account Managers and Producers as they prepare customer renewals and new business strategy including proposals and presentations to ensure client satisfaction.
Coordinate carrier meetings with the Benefits team
Develop and maintain community presence by networking and participating in professional development activities and memberships.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Active Wisconsin Life & Health License (CE compliant)
3-5 years’ benefits experience with an agency, health insurance company or similar experience
Proven success in benefits sales (health, life, etc)
Knowledge and understanding of the employee benefits industry, the sales/marketing methods, and the implementation process.
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
Skilled at Problem Solving, Prioritizing, Organization, Leadership
